Former Lindsay business man killed overseas
The Peterboro Examiner carries a good picture of a former young Lindsay man, William John Ellis, with the following news item:
Cpl. William John Ellis, R.C.A.F., was killed Sunday over Boulton Bridge, Yorkshire, England, in a flying accident. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Ellis, 482 Mark St.
Mr. Ellis will be remembered by many in Lindsay as the proprietor of the Lindsay Mattress Co., on Wellington St. The young proprietor closed up shot at the outbreak of war and donned His Majesty’s uniform.
