David Jasper Forman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Forman, 26 Bond Street, Lindsay, enlisted for service with the Canadian Army on 29 June 1943.
A student at the University of Toronto, he entered the Royal Canadian Artillery and gained the rank of Sergeant. He received training at the Toronto University, Petawawa Camp, Victoriaville (Que.), and St. John’s (Que.).
A Gunner with the Artillery, D.J. Forman transferred from this service to the R.C.A.F. on 4 January 1944.
He served as a Navigator in the Air Force and was also moved to Rivers, Man., and Brandon, Man. When D.J. Forman had completed his course in navigation, he was presented with his wings and graduated as a Navigator at St. John’s Quebec on 1 December 1944. The presentation was made on this occasion by his father, Captain Jasper Forman.
Sergeant Forman, R.C.A.F. was stationed in Canada only and was given his discharge from the R.C.A.F. on 7 September 1945. He has resumed his studies at the U of T.
