The Air Force that Flies Every Night O’er Berlin

Written by Captain Jasper Forman, D.C.M., M.M.
Fredericton Internment Camp, Fredericton, N.B.

Oh come ye; Oh come ye; Oh have you not heard
Of fighters who take to the air like a bird,
Who come in such numbers you may not get in
This Air Force that flies every night o'er Berlin.

The need is so great and the cause is so good
That men leave the farm and the field and the wood,
The city and town; ah you may not get in
This Air Force that flies every night o'er Berlin.

There'll be racing and chasing all over the lea,
By fliers that fight o'er the land and the sea,
Who fight as they fly; Oh you may not get in
This Air Force that flies every night o'er Berlin.

Oh they'll fly and they'll fight by night and by day
While the Hun and the Jap may get in their way,
They may get in the way of the men who get in
This Air Force that flies every night o'er Berlin.

That they'll get in the way there's no doubt at all,
And they'll get out again. They'll flee or they'll fall.
They'll flee for their lives from the men who get in
This Air Force that flies every night o'er Berlin.

Oh Victory is coming. It may not come fast,
But Victory is sure and it will come at last,
It will come at last, thanks to those who get in
This Air Force that flies every night o'er Berlin.
