Congratulations to Chester Gamble, of town, a recent graduate from a Training Course for Officers at Currie Barracks, Calgary. Mr. Gamble has been serving with the first Battalion of the Midland Regiment. He is known in Lindsay as “Laird”, and is the son of Mr. Alf. Gamble. His wife and sister, Rosamond, also live in town.

Lieut Gamble enlisted in the Canadian Army on 1 October 1941 with the Midlands. After extensive training in Canada he proceeded over-seas in May 1943.
Lieut. Gamble is now (Jan 1945) serving as Administration Officer at Bramshott Military Hospital in England.
