Lindsay Woman’s Husband dies suddenly overseas Lindsay, Nov. 28—Mrs. Olive Gardner, of Water Street, Lindsay, has received official information that her husband, George Braden Gardner, has suddenly died while serving overseas.
Sgt. Gardner, 29, was attached to the First Special Service Force. He enlisted at Lindsay with the 56th Battery, 6th Anti-Tank regiment, in April 1942, and trained at Lindsay and Petawawa before transferring to the Paratroop Corps. He received further training at Montana, Burlington, Vt. USA, and went overseas in October, 1943. Sgt. Gardner is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gardner, of 756 Danforth Avenue, Toronto.
