Sergt-Pilot Ronald Gillis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gillis, Verulam, has recently written home, that he likes flying, in reconnaissance from Camp Shepherd, B.C. he flies approximately 700 miles a day.
Before his transference West, Ronald was stationed in P.Q. Last midsummer the plane he was piloting, owing to defective gearing, got out of control and crushed into the waters of the Richelieu R. Fortunately, Ronald managed to help his companion who could not swim afloat, until rescued by a French lady sailing in a boat nearby.
