Flying Officer C.A. Grant enlisted 17 July 1941. He received his wings and commission at Dauphin, Man., 3 July 1942. He was posted on 1 August 1942 to Arnprior to take an instructor’s course, on 1 October 1942 to Pendelton as an instructor, on 1 May 1943 to Uplands for a refresher course. On 2 August 1943, he was posted to the Atlantic transport group at Dorval, Quebec, and on 4 October 1943 to South Atlantic Wing R.A.F.T.C. at Nassau, Bahamas, to fly bombers to Africa. On 25 April 1944 he was posted to Patricia Bay, Vancouver Island, to instruct transport plane pilots.
