Another Lindsay Soldier Wounded Mr. and Mrs. C. Growden, St. David St., have received information that their son Cpl. Charles Growden, wounded while serving in Italy, has now recovered sufficiently to be moved out of hospital and is now in a “resting home: recuperating.
Cpl. Growden enlisted at Niagara Falls in March 1941, with the Argyle Scottish Regiment. He trained in that city before going to Jamaica, where he served for 22 months before returning to Canada in June, 1943. After a month’s leave he went to England and later to Italy where he was transferred to the 48th Highlanders. Cpl. Grewden is well known in Lindsay having been born and educated here.
