P.O. Stewart Hadley Killed in Action Overseas
Haliburton, April 20 (PNS) – Sad news reached Haliburton village, when it became known that PO. Stewart Hadley, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl H. Hadley, former residents here, was killed in action overseas.
PO. Hadley was born in Haliburton and went to school here. He went to Noranda, Que. in 1936 where he lived until two years ago, when the family moved to Sarnia.
He has one brother Donald, also overseas and a sister Muriel (Mrs. Cook of Sarnia).
Citizens and friends find words at this time inadequate and messages of sympathy go out to Mr. and Mrs. Hadley in their hour of sorrow.
The heroic deeds of such gallant boys as this add pages to history and these terrible fortunes of war such as are heard far too often grieve the heart of every Canadian citizen.
