Nursing Sister tells of English Hospitality Lieut. Nursing Sister L.J. Harding on All Canadian Staff in England, writes to Mrs. H. McMullen It is of local interest that Lieut. Nursing-Sister L.J. Harding of town is on the staff of a 1200 bed all-Canadian hospital, Somewhere in England. This hospital is completely equipped and staffed by Canadians and Miss Harding who was Operating-Room Supervisor in our local hospital, is in the operating room over there.
In an air-mail letter received by Mrs. Hallie McMullen, Colborne St., she told of the wonderful reception the party of Canadian nurses received everywhere they went. Miss Harding was deeply touched over this. She said people would rush out and offer them refreshments and couldn’t do enough for them.
Speaking of the beauty of the island, she said it was beyond anything she had ever dreamed it could be – the grass is greener and the leaves are greener and the flowers are more brilliant than they are here.
