Expected home, reported dead
Haliburton, July 21, (PNS) – Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Howe, former residents of Donald, but now of West Guilford, that their eldest son, Pte. Irwin Howe, was killed overseas.
He was expected home in the near future and the news of his death came as a great shock to his family.
Before enlisting, Pte. Howe was a member of the Reserve Army and enlisted at eighteen.
It is reported Pte. Howe was hurt in an accident and succumbed to injuries.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters and one brother.
