Cpl. Hussey is released from Stalag

Word has been received here to the effect that Cpl. Lloyd Hussey has been released by Allied troops from a German Prison Camp along to the Baltic Sea near Steddin.


Cpl. Hussey joined the Armed Forces at the beginning of the war and was captured at the time of the Dieppe raid.


Mrs. Olive Hussey is hoping for his arrival home soon, when he will see for the first time, his now four-year-old daughter, Marilyn.

B 25180 Lloyd Wm. Hussey enlisted in Toronto 22 February 1940 with 2nd Field Co. Royal Can. Engineers. Married in April of 1940 to Olive Gould of Kirkland Lake. He left Toronto for overseas on 10 May 1940 and arrived in England 22 May 1940. He was taken German prisoner following Battle of Dieppe on 19 August 1942. Declared prisoner of war on 26 September 1942 at No. 26441 Stalag 8B (later changed to Stalag 344).
