Mother receives word of arrival of sons in England
Oakwood, Sept. 21 (PNS) – Mr. and Mrs. Jas Irwin have received Airgraph letters from their sons Pte. Ross and Pte. Lorne Irwin, who are both in the RCOC. They made the crossing to England together and had a good journey. They left Kingston on Aug. 24 and their letters were dated from England Sept. 3. A first request was to send a flash light for,

Cfn. Lorne H. Irwin of Oakwood, Ontario, enlisted with the Canadian Army at Peterborough on 23 February 1943. He took his basic training at Barriefield. Cfn. Lorne Irwin was posted overseas in August of the same year. He was attached to the RCEME and went to France after D-Day. In September he moved to Antwerp where he remained in service in the Advance Base workshop. - Date of Publication
