Janetville District Presbyterian Churches unveil Honour Roll
Janetville, July 26, (PNS) – At the three congregations of the Janetville charge of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, there was held a ceremony of unveiling of an Honour Roll, to the men and women, 35 in number, of the respective congregations who are in the service of our country at this time of special emergency, when we are called to take our part in the defence of Truth Rightousness and Liberty, being threatened by a cruel and ruthless foe and their unholy alliance.
The Honour Roll was concealed by a large Union Jack, at the opening of the service and early in the worship period, the minister, Rev. Peter Jamison called the attention of the King’s Army who are there they were asked to show respect to these young men and young women who are their sons and daughters, brothers, sisters and companions, who have gone forth in their behalf.
Mrs. Joseph Capstick, who has three sons in the service, unveiled the Roll of Honour in the Janetville church.
Mrs. M. Lathangue officiated in a similar capacity at the service in the Bollyduff church and Miss Ruth Prout, raised the flag from the Honour Roll at the evening service at the Nestleton Church.

Pte. Walter MidgleyFollowing the unveiling ceremony special prayer was offered for all in the Armed Forces of the Empire and Dominions of the Commonwealth, and the United Nations.
Rev. Mr. Jamison then addressed the Congregation, calling all to share together in the great cause, meeting in the common sacrifices and deprivations, also in prayer for Victory and Peace.
All then united in singing the National Anthem.
