Mrs. Talbert Johnston has received word that her son, Sgt. Bert L. Johnston is now in England. Bert was wounded in Italy in December and his many friends are glad to hear he is doing nicely.

- C 65061 Sgt. Johnston Bert L. enlisted August 1940 in the first Midland Regt. Trained in Lindsay, Ottawa, St. Johns, Niagara, Edmonton, and Prince Rupert. Transferred to the American Special Service Force (Paratroops) in 1942, training in Montana, Virginia and Vermont, until the Kiska raid in which he took part. Returned to Vermont and then to Italy in 1943 where he was in action until wounded on 25 December 1943. He was brought back to England to recover. Then he went to France.
