Sgt. Ian Johnston Killed on active duty Overseas Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Johnston, Bond St., well-known Lindsay businessman and his wife, received official word this morning to the effect that their son, Sgt. Ian Johnston, has been reported killed in action in France, as of August 8.
The telegram which came from toe Director of Records at Ottawa, stated that further details would be forwarded as soon as received.
Enlisting with the 2nd Survey Regiment, Sgt. Johnston received his training at Kingston, Ont. from where he proceeded overseas some three years ago. In his 28th year, he received his education in Lindsay and at Queen's University of Kingston.
A brother, Bruce, is attached to the Dental Corps of the Canadian (Active) Army and a sister, Mrs. Hamer, resides in Montreal.
