William Edward Roy Junkin enlisted in the Canadian Army (Infantry) on 6 August 1940. He entered the Midland Regiment as a Private and took training as a Driver. During his service in Canada he had postings from coast to coast. He was sent overseas on 14 May 1943.
Private Junkin transferred from the Midland Regt to C.H. of O.
He saw action with the enemy in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany.
W.E.R. Junkin returned from overseas on 9 September 1945. He was given his discharge on 26 October 1945. After the war he lived in Lindsay at 4 George Street East.
