Lindsay Boys Overseas
Hello GirlsReceived your very acceptable gift of cigs yesterday and believe me they were more than welcome, as you will no doubt realize that I am now ‘somewhere in France’ and under these conditions a cigarette is worth a lot, so thanks a million to all of you. I hope you are all keeping in the best of health and enjoying the good summer weather over there. It has been very much like Cdn. weather here this past while, but home wasn’t ever like this believe me, but let’s hope it will soon be brought to a successful conclusion and the boys come marching home again, some will be left here, but that is war and to be expected, although it all seems worthless, if you could see France as we have seen it so far, nothing but misery and ruin. Imagine Canada being that way, but thanks to loyal home front workers we have the goods to prevent it, so carry on with a brave heart and good luck to all of you. Au Revoir.
Yours as ever,
