Corvette Crew thanks town for carton of records
The following letter received by the town council shows in a measure the way the crew members of HMCS Lindsay appreciate little items for their comfort sent from home.
Please convey to the Corvette Committee our sincere thanks for the box of records that arrived the other day. After their long trip to Britain, we are pleased to report that not one was broken.
We were very pleased to receive the selections as they are distinctly Canadian and American and such records are impossible to procure in Britain
Your continued interest in us is much appreciated as parcels and gifts of any kind are so very welcome while we are overseas and away from so many of the benefits we had while working out of Canadian ports and Newfoundland
Signed – G.A.C. Thomson,
Lt. R.C.N.V.R.
Commanding Officer,
H.M.C.S. ‘Lindsay’
