Lindsay soldier is wounded in battle
Mr. and Mrs. William Lywood, 100 St. Peter St. have received official confirmation that their son, Pte. John Lywood, 23, has been wounded while fighting on the western front.
Pte. Lywood enlisted at Kingston in May, 1943, with the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders. He trained at Camp Borden and Halifax, N.S., before going overseas in December 1944. Pte. Lywood is a member of the Queen Street United Church and previous to his enlistment was employed by the Dominion Arsenal.
