Rifleman Jack Martin, Victoria Road, enlisted in the Midland Regiment in Lindsay in August 1940. He trained in Lindsay, Ottawa, St. Johns (NS), Niagara Falls, Edmonton, and Prince Rupert. He married Jean Goodman of Lindsay in November 1942. He was posted overseas in March 1943, arriving on April 1 and was stationed somewhere in England. Rifleman Martin was reported wounded in action on 11 September 1944.
