Cpl. Ross Miller sends souvenirs of war home
Corporal Ross Miller, well known Lindsay boy, in a recent letter to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. L. Miller, Angeline St., says that “the war is not over by any means yet, there is a lot of hard and bitter fighting to be done.”
While fighting in Belgium and France, Corporal Miller secured many fine souvenirs which have been forwarded to his parents. A representative of the Post viewed this collection. One very interesting articles was a pennant bearing an insignia of the Iron Cross, which would appear to have been taken from some German mechanized equipment. There was also quite an extensive collection of badges, etc., bearing the Swastika, numerous coins and other trinkets as well as French, German, and Belgium currency.
Corporal Miller enlisted with a Tank Corps in Vernon, B.C. in 1942 was transferred to Camp Borden early in 1943 for further training, going overseas in December of last year.
