Wrote letter two days before his ship sunk
Lindsay, May 11 (Special) – Among the missing when the Athabaskan went down was Engine-room Artificer Leonard Mumford, a young man whose home was in Hagersville, Ont.
Lieut. Donald Mumford, whose wife and child are residing with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reesor, Lindsay, is a brother of the young seaman. Since the sinking of the Athabaskan, Mrs. Mumford of Lindsay has received a letter written by Artificer Mumford on April 27. The Athabaskan went down on April 29.
