- H.J. McCaughey, a labourer of Uphill, Ont., enlisted in the RCAF on 14 November 1941, and received his training at Guelph, Montainview and other points in Canada. Sent overseas on 27 August 1944. Sgt. McCaughey was transferred to the RAF and saw enemy action in India as a wireless air-gunner. He arrived home 19 July 1945, and received his discharge 2 October 1945.
