Husband Lost

Mrs. Donald Thompson Corran McDougal has been informed that her husband, Signalman McDougall, is missing at sea.


The young signalman, son of Mr. and Mrs. William McDougall of Toronto, enlisted in 1941/ In August of 1944 he married Brenda Trotter of Lindsay.


The ship to which he belonged was mentioned in dispatches several times last winter.

Don McDougall joined the crew of the HMCS Shawinigan after training at St. Hyacinthe Quebec in July of 1943, and remained a member of her crew until the loss of the ship in the North Atlantic, November 1944.
