Winner of Medal for Gallantry
The many friends of Earl MacDuff, formerly of Gooderham, will be interested to learn that he has been awarded the Military Medal for gallantry on the field, while on active service overseas.
Earl went overseas with the 56th Anti-Tank Bty. in the summer of 1942 and has served in France, Belgium, and Holland. At the present time he is stationed in England.

Earl D. MacDuff (C 32771) whose home is at 14 Deneson Street in Lindsay Ontario, enlisted for service with the Canadian Army on 1 April 1942.
He joined the 56th A/T Battery, and had the rank of Sergeant. Sgt. MacDuff trained at Lindsay, Petawawa, Peterborough, and Debert (NS).
E.D. MacDuff won his promotions while in service having enlisted rank of Gunner. He was made L|Bdr in September 1942, Bdr in February 1943 and Sergeant while in France July 1940.
E.D. MacDuff went overseas on 27 August 1943. He saw action with the army against the enemy in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
Sgt. MacDuff won the coveted Military Medal on 13 October 1944. On the same date, Sgt. MacDuff was wounded in action. Sgt. MacDuff arrived home from overseas on 5 January 1946. He was still on active service in February 1946.
