L.A. McEachern whose home is at Woodville, Ont., enlisted for service with the Canadian Army on 8 January 1942. He joined the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps and had the rank, Private.
Pte. McEachern trained at Peterborough, Ont., Barriefield Camp (Ont.) and at Camp Borden.
Pte. McEachern was sent overseas on 15 June 1943. He proceeded directly into action against the enemy as he served from D-Day until VE Day with the Invasion Forces.
While in the service, Pte. L.A. McEachern transferred from the 3rd Division to the 2nd Division.
Pte. L.A. McEachern arrived home from overseas on 21 November 1945. At the time of writing he was expecting his discharge on 4 January 1946.
L.A. McEachern is welcomed back to his home town, Woodville, and to the district. Prior to his enlistment in the service of his country he was employed by the Canada Crayon Company at Lindsay.
