- L.C. McEachern whose home is at Woodville, Ontario, enlisted for service with the Canadian Army on 15 May 1942.
He joined the Brockville Rifles and had the rank of Private.
Pte. McEachern trained at Ottawa, Ont. and at Prince Rupert (BC). Pte. McEachern went overseas on 21 January 1943.
He served with the PPCLI [Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry] while overseas ans saw action against the enemy in Sicily, Italy, and northwestern Europe. Pte McEachern was wounded on 13 December 1943 while on active service.
He returned from overseas service on 30 September 1945 and was given his discharge on 8 January 1946.
Employed as a clerk prior to enlisting in the service of his country, L.C. McEachern is welcomed back to his home in Woodville and to the district.
