- Lorne E. McLean whose home is in Little Britain enlisted for service with the Canadian Army on 6 May 1941. He joined the Royal Canadian Artillery and had the rank of Gunner.
Gnr. Lorne E. McLean trained with the army at Petawawa Camp and Tracadie and Sussex (NB). He was promoted twice in the service. To Lance Bombardier on 3 November 1944 and to Bombardier on 31 January 1945. He was sent oversea son 11 November 1941.
After further training in England, L.E. McLean saw action against the enemy in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
For his war service he was given the 1939-45 Star, France-Germany Medal, Defence of Britain and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp.
Bdr. McLean returned from overseas service on 21 November 1945. He was given his discharge from active service on 7 January 1946.
Engaged in farming prior to his war service, Bdr. L.E. McLean is welcomed back to this district. His address is RR2 Little Britain.
