Mitchell of Lindsay sends home large parcel of souvenirs from Belgium
Rfn. Mitchell Redmond enlisted with the First Midland Regiment in August 1940. He trained at Lindsay, Ottawa, St. John (NB), Allanburg, Niagara-on-the-Lake. He took a course at Long Branch, went to Edmonton and Prince Rupert and returned to Kingston for a short period. He went overseas in April, 1943, joined the Irish Regiment, and was later transferred to the Queen’s Own Rifles. Rfn. Redmond took part in the invasion of Normandy on 6 June 1944.- Date of Publication
