- Morale High in England, says Pte. Roper
Pte. Harry Roper enlisted with the Canadian Army and was sent overseas in October 1943. While on maneuvers in England he was wounded when a rifle exploded injuring him in the abdomen on 14 January 1944. After four months in an England hospital, he was invalided home on the Lady Nelson and arrived about 25 May 1944. As of June 1944 he was stationed in Kingston, Ontario. - Date of Publication
