F|O Arthur Menaul in plane that bags sub in Atlantic Ocean
Lindsay is proud of her brave airmen who have recently become head-liners in our daily papers.
The latest story concerns Flying Officer Arthur Menaul, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Menaul, Victoria Ave. N, who is mentioned in a dispatch relating to a recent encounter in the Atlantic with an enemy U-boat.
Menaul sighted one of these enemy craft almost at the same time as the senior officer who was at the controls and it was their good fortune to make a perfect attack, through rain and fog and enemy fire.
Some months ago, Menaul dropped a radio from a plane to survivors in a life boat, which was the means of their reaching safety. This was the first time this had ever been accomplished.
Art has a brother Harold in the R.C A.F. out West and a sister, Evon, at home.
