Hall’s words, “ I remember as a boy, around 1917, I slipped into the creek during the Spring thaw and ice floes, and was lucky someone came along to pull me out as I was testing my first pair of high rubber boots, and they rapidly filled with water and added to my weight and struggles to get to the street level again.”
