- “Our teacher was a renowned character throughout the area, very strict but fair. Ink spots on the floor or desk were not left for the janitor. The unlucky one who did the mischief cleaned it up and kept at it until Mr. Charles was satisfied. Carving initials on furniture was strictly forbidden. (I must have outgrown this training as many a seat at the University of Toronto had my name and 2T3 written on it as I sat and dreamed and wondered what some of the professors were talking about.)” George C.R. Hall.
