- At the beginning of WWII, there were doctors in Lindsay who also served in the military, but these doctors resigned their military posts with the outbreak of war. Dr. George C.R. Hall volunteered his medical services to the military, but the military considered him needed at home due to the shortage of doctors in the area. As Dr. George C.R. Hall stated, “I was needed at home, not even the signal corps wanted me.”
Dr. George C.R. Hall did organize numerous blood donor clinics in Sunderland, Woodville, and Lindsay.
