Fenelon Falls, June‘l‘lthismt. ~THEâ€" ROYAL CANADIAN INSURANCE COM PANY, ‘ b. THE LONDON IIIU'I‘UAL. FOR FARMERS. The Royal Canadian offers the (alluring: advantages over the London Mutual: 1. If a building worth $1200 is insured l men! for say $1000, the Royal Canadian is oblig- ed to pay $1000, ifa loss occurs. In such a case the London Mutual is obliged to pay only two thirds ofthc cash value, or $800. 2. lfa horse worth $00 is killed in the fields by lightning. the Royal Canadian is i The London Mutual l pays only $60. 3. Fora cow worth $30 killed by light» ning the [loyal Canadian pays 3:3”. The. London Mutual pays only $20. For other animals the Royal Canadian pays the full value. The London Mutual pays not more than 35, no matter how valuable the animal may be. 4. In the Royal Canadian animals are insured against lightning while at pasture anywhere. In the London Mutual they are insured while posturing on the premises of the insured only. 5. When articles are insured specifically. such as musical instruments, the Royal Canadian is obliged to pay the full amount insured tip to the cash value of the article. The London Mutual pays only two-third of the cash value, no matter what the in- surance may be. 6. When -'-' ordinary contents ” of out buildings are insured by the Royal Canadian ALL implements are included. In the Lon- don Mutual only one reaper and one mower are included, no matter how good others may be. 7. When the outbuildings are not joined to each other the Royal Canadian insures under one sum the “ordinary contents ” of all buildng not cut ofl‘ by a distance great- er than 40 tt., the same as if the contents were all under one roof. The London Mn- tual requires a separate sum on the con- tents of each building, it' the distance is, more than 1‘2. ft. This is a very important , dill'crence in many cases. 8. In the Royal Canadian it is a part of the contract that standard STEAM Tum-:snt-zns may be used without a special pcrtnit and without any restriction as to the distat.oe from stacks or buildings, caretakers, pails of water, kind of fuel or direction of the wind. Many of the policy holders in the London Mutual were obliged to run their own risk while threshing last season, be- cause it was found to be impossible to eom- ply with the conditions of their permit. When a farmer pays for insurance he should secure a policy which will hold him safe when it is most required. 9. The Royal Canadian is obliged to pay its losses within sixty days anti usually takes much less. The London Mutual need not pay for ninety days, and since it has become so hard up as to be obliged to bor- row money largely, it usually takes about the full time allowed. . 10. The Royal Canadian policy is subjch to the statutory conditions only. It hasl none of the numerous variations against l the policy-holder printed in red ink on the l back of the London Mutual policy. . 11. As to security. the inspector of insn-1 rant-e reports that the Royal Canadian has , $202,758, the amount. he estimates to be: 2 :L'Hlll‘c sthut of threshing. A Fierca Battle. LOUISA. Ky. Sept. Lidâ€"On 'l‘wclvt‘ l’olo eretk. near Wamc conit hnuu'. Va. on Friday. a terrible light occnrt-t d between a sheriff's posse and a can: ul Italian railroad laborers. Several Ital- ians were killed and a number wounded. Some weeks ago a contractor on the Norfolk and Western Railroad namt-d Kcongh went away, leaving numerous creditors, among the number being II c Italians. A new contractor took pom sessimt of the abandoned works and put. a number of laborers to work in a cut formetly worked by the Italians. The Italians refused to allow anyone to work in the cut until they had received their pay, and proceeded to oust the new laborers. 'l‘hrcc timt-s the new laborers were run out by the Italians, who nstd stones, clubs. knives and pi~tols. The contractor then applied to the court for promotion, and was furnished a posw ofa tltxzen men, headed by the, shetill of Wayne County. On Friday the sheriiI attempted to arrest the Italians, who fiercely resisted, and a combat re- sulted with 40 or more Italians on out! side. armed with Stones. knives and revolvers, and the sheriffs men on tltu other. The Italians fought from behind trees and locks. Firing became general and lasted some minutes. When the smoke had cleared away several Italians were found in the last. throes of death and several tnorc were wounded. The slit-riffs men escaped with a ft w severe bruises. About twenty Italians Wt'l't‘. arrested and jailed. The remainder escaped. .. ..... __.-.._« _-. The Trade in Canadian Logs.
