BERLIN, Oct. 17.â€"â€"A terrible tragedy re tilting in the horrible death of three persons has occurred on the Tweitz-iw estate of Count. Blucher in Pomerania. A few days ago Count Blucher discov- eged that a man employed by him in tile double capacity of gardener and gamekeeper was carrying on a liaison with a pretty young girl employed as a maid in the castle. The count at once discharged the man but retained the girl in his service. she professing grout repentance for her wrongr doing. The gardener was greatly enraged at his discharge and threatened to the other Servants that he would have revenge. Nobody paid much attention to him, and hence occurred the tragedy that has thrown the place into mourning. It was the usual custom of Count and Countess Blucher to take a daily walk about their estate when the weather favored. To-day, in accordance with this custom," they started on a wall: which led them to a wild and seldom frequented part of the estate. The gardener, .who, of course, knew the Count’s habits, had concealed himsle in the woods, and when the couple on- tered he followed them. When they had reached a spot that the gardener thought ï¬tted for the committing of his crime he sprang: out before them armed with a double-bat'rellcd gun. Almost before the Count could utter it word the gardener shot him in the head, and then shot the Countess in the neck. The murderer dropped his gun and ran to the castle. He entered the hall, and as tho aifriu'hted servants gathered about hiiti to enquire as to his wild and dis- bevelled appearance, he drew a revolver from his pocket and shot himself dead. o. abor Demenstration in London. LONDON. Oct. 16 â€"â€"Thcre was a great demonstration of laboring men in Hyde Park yesterday. Processions en- tered the park from Oxford street, Pic czidilly, preceded by bands and banners. The object of gathciiug was to make a declaration in support; of the striking minors. Several members of the House of Commons, including,r T. P. O'Connor and John Burns. addressed the meeting. Stepnink, the Russian Nihilist, also' spoke. Hyndmun urged the men not [0 yield under any circumstances until their demands had been met. There were. twelve spenkers’ platforms. The multitude was estimated at 20,000 per- sans. Resolutions were passed condemn- ing the owners for eudetivoriiig.r to de- fraud the miners ofa rcasmiable wage rate, and charging them with paralyzing; the whole trade of the country for their own selï¬sh policy. The resolutions pledged support to the iamilies of the miners and demanded fair payment. The assemblage was perfectly orderly. 00W Miss Etta Babbitt of New Bedford, Mass., has had her name changed by the probate court to Ella Babbitt.
