My canoe was soon speeding towards the shore at a tremendous rate, but on looking back again“I saw that the serpent was slowly but surely gain- ing. On it came, its great mouth open and large enough to swallow a house, and seeing that it was impossible to es- cape I jumped out and tried to appease it by giving it the canoe. While it was swallowing the canoe I jumped on its back and ran down to its tail, about half a mile away. Right at the very tip of its tail I could get my arms around and ham: on. but as soon as the animal tell; me he tried to bite me off, but for- tunately he could'not get within a rod of me. It kept going round and round just like a little dog does when it has a tin can on its tail, and all the time it was raising a. wave eight feet high. course, it could not stay in the same place, and I almOstlield my breath when I saw that it was getting nearer the shore. At last the tail struck the sand- bar and I jumped off. feeling sorry to lose my canoe, but glad to escape with my life." 'We think that serpent must have. been the one known as the Father of Lies... I hope that there will- be more good crops of hay in the future, so that we will have the weeds looked after. Perhaps the most general cause of head- ache and pain across the eyes is nasal ca- tarrh. Itkills myri- ads of germs at, every breath, clears away mucous discharges, preserves and heals the membrane. Catarrhozone is just a splendid. remedy for headache, and its action is crr-. tain and unfailing in diseases of the Threat. and Lungs, Deafness, Bronchitis, Asthma and Catarrb.
