Morrison and Stewart re- ported re lot north half 17 and part of 18 in con. 3. that they had decided to wait until the snow was gone before making an examination. Mr. D. McRea was heard, asking that the fee for billiard license be re- duced, and it was Moved by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Burtchall, That the fee for a license for a billiard table be reduced to 812 a year. Moved in amendment by Mr. Morri- son, seconded by Mr. Griffin, That no reduction be made. - The original motion was carried and a by-Iaw introduced and passed in the usual way to amend the by-law respect- ing billiard tables, in accordance with the motion. Mr. W. Tipling addressed the council at some length respecting the snow blocking the road at or near his place, showing that, there being so few men in his division. most of the labor of clear- ing the road of snow devolved upon himself, and that in consequence all his statute labor for the year was used in shovelliog snow, and some days besides; stating also that a wire fence along the road would cure the difficulty, and that he would put up a wire fence if the council would furnish half the wire. and would forego his claim for pay for time spent in clearing the roads of snow. On motion of Mr. Griflio, seconded by Mr. Morrison. 810 was granted to- wards purchasing wire for fence, Mr. Tipling to furnish a like amount and all other material and build the fence. Mr. Griffin to inspect the fence and see that it is substantially built. A bylaw to appoint pathmasters and other ofiicers; a byvlaw to appoint a medical health ofiicer; and a ‘by-law to remit dog-tux were read and passed.
