SlDEWALK.â€"-In compliance with a petition laid before the council not long ago, a sidewalk is to be built from Twomey‘s corner to Dr. Mason's residence, on the south side of Francis street east. The material is to be grav- el, several loads of which have already been dumped along the route; but whether it is or is not to receive a top- dressing of cement, or whether the walls to keep it from spreading are to be of wood or stone, has not, as far as we have heard, yet been decided upon.
