L. Robson is mourning the loss of his fine little (le- livery mare, “Nelly.” She was being shed in Mr. l’oulsom's blacksmith shop on Monday morning, when, either be« cause she was feeling exceptionally liwa- 1y after her rest on Sunday, or because something in the shop gave her a sudden fright, she made a quick jump, struck. her right hind leg against the tire-upset- ting machine, which was fastened to the Wallet the shop, and then fell. Whether from the force of. the blow or of the fall is uncertain, but the leg was so hadly broken above the hock that, in accord- ance with the advice of Dr. Mason, she was shot. Mr. Poulsom, who Was the’ only person in the shop when the acci- dent happened, says he does not know- what was the cause of the mare‘s sudden action. She was an exceptionally line and well-broken little animal, about six-" teen years old, and was raised and own- ed all her life by Mr. Robson, who will not eaail y replace her. with one as satis- factory as she was. ~ A twenty-five cent can of Campbell’s Sta-in will restore the finish on four ordinary chairs. Any lady can use it. When applied it flows out under the brush, and dries without showing laps. A seventy-live cent can or Campbell’s Floor Finish will do an ordinary floor one coat.
