V There will surely be a good demand for labor during the coaxing summer, with the Trent Valley Canal, the Grand Trunk Pacific and the road from Midland to Petcrborough that the Grand Trunk Company intends to build. The farmers will also require quite a number of men, and if there is a big crop in Manitoba and the North-west Territories, a crowd of harvest hands will be needed. No doubt there will be a large immigration to Canada this season ; and there is one class of people that should not be allow- ed to come; and that is the Italians, about ninety-eighty per cent. of whom carry knives. 0-.
