On Saturday afternoon, about three, o‘clock, as Mrs. Owens, her two young dhildren, aged 4 years and 5 months and 6 months and Miss Smithson, who res ides seven miles from Fenelou Falls on the Glenarm iroad were driving along Francis staeet., west, where the cement walk is being laid, their horse shied at a pile cf lumber near the roadside and suddenly bolted, throwing the occupants out-01" the rig. Miss Smithson sustained a fracture od tne right arm near the shoulder. The others escaping with slight bruises. accident occurred near- ly opposite Mr. Thos. Robson’s house and Miss Robson who witnessed the accident, invited the lady to enter and wait till medical aid arriqed which they did. Dr. Johnstone was summoned and attended the patient who left for her home near Glenarm the same evening. The horse was captured in a few min- utes by Mr. Perrin and Mr. Jewell. REPLANKED. The wharf near the McArthur House has been replanked. It has been in a dangerous condition all snnnner, and should have been repaired long ago. Docherty and Lieut. Mapes of the Salvation Army held their farewell meeting, which was largely attended. Lieut. Mapes left on Monday and Capt. Docherty left on Wednesday merning. During their stay here the officers made many friends, who will regret their departure. A GOOD PLAY. Such a large crowd turned out to see “ The District School at Blueberry Cor- ners,” on fair night, that many could not gain admittance, and it was repeat- ed the following night, The play was given by the young people of the Methâ€" odist Church, who took in over $100 asa result of the entertainment.
