Killed a Lynx. I On Thursday morning of last week an extra large lynx was exhibited on Kent-st. by a young farmer and was inspected by hundreds of people. It was ï¬rst seen by James Greening, of Ops, in a cluster oil trees, in the swamp near McArthur’s school house, about 2% miles from Lind- say, on the leading road to Omemee. Greening, with the assistance of John Sloan, a dog and a club, managed to kill the animal, aftera prolonged ï¬ght. The ilynx was an extra large one. in ï¬ne con- dition and was left with a lacal taxider- mist to be mounted. Such animals are rare in this vicinity. A Town Clock. Lindsay has a ï¬ne post house, on which there is a tower. In the tower are four openings in the brick work, circular in form, and ï¬lled with boarding. By many it is supposed that it was the intention once upon a time to place a clock in the! said tower. A striking clock, with illuminated dials would ï¬ll the bill and is just what our town wants. Peterboro’ i has one and Mr. James Stevenson, H.P., had no trouble in inducing the govern- ment to place it. Lindsay has Senator Dubsou, Major Hughes and Mr. Chas. Fairbairn, M.P’s at Ottawa. Can they get a clock? Suppose they try! Their united efforts would surely succeed. Personals. _ â€"â€"Mr. J. W.
