That it was enjoyable none will dream of ques- tioning, when they learn that the control of affairs for this evening was in the hands of the ladies of the society. As it was a gracefully occupied by Miss M. Lumsden. After the meeting had been called to order and the business preliminaries disposed of, the Society proceeded to enjoy a really excellent program. consisting of choruses by the Young Ladies’ Glee Club, an in- strumental duet by the Misses Whiteside, . and a vocal duet by Misses Cliff and Mc- Carty; recitations by Miss Marty, Miss M. The program ended and the meeting closed by the hearty singing in true. loyal fashion of God Save the Queen. Quite a. number of ladies from the town came up to enjoy the evening and expressed themselves well pleased with the manner and matter of the meeting. WORTH OF GOODS " SLAUEHT' RED.
