A Mamuknm' Coun’r was heli here on Friday last, on the case ot one Forest Gil- inan, arrested at the instance of Mr. Angus Ferguson, of 6th Con. Eldon. for the theft '0‘ $15.00. It appears that the prisoner had been engaged by Mr. Ferguson to work for him. and that shortly alter a chest in which the money was held was found behind the wood-pile hruken open and the money gone Suspicion p)l‘lt0tl to Gilman, and he was watched. . On Thursday he was sent to at- ~tond a threshing at Mr. Donald Jackson's; but instead of going as directed. he made ‘lllfl way to Lindsay. This aroused further suspicion, and Mr. Ferguson telegraphed to 'the constable there and the boy was arrest- ed. On being brought here the money was found swived in the lining of his hat. The boy who was committed to jail to await trial, was retained at the Northern hotel and some "friend" it seems liberated him during the absence of the constable.
