Many problems were presented, the chief of which ‘is the securing of uni- forms. The news was gladly re- ceived that the school board, though not in}. financial position ‘to pro- vide the clothing, had promised to supply new caps this year. and- to turn the government grant of $50 over to the corps for the years to come. It was finally decided to leave the choice of uniform it would was ed on account of the flu of A. com- pany, and after a long discussion it was decided that a number of men should be drafted from B. and C. On account of the heavy expense in connection it was found necessary to levy a small fee on cash cadet. Since it. is impossible to provide swords for all the officers canes will be substituted. Baker Sells on To Adams’ Bros An important deal of interest to Lindsay citizens, as well as the peo- ple in the surrounding country, was put through last night, when Mr. W. E. Baker, the well-known groc- er, disposed of his business to an- other well-known and well establish- ed grocery firm, viz., Adams Bros. For some time past. Mr. Bauer has been falling in health and only recently took a trip to the coast to recuperate. He returned much im- proved and shortly afterwards made arrangements to secure a new store, and as a result a few months ago moved into his fine new store east of the Benson House. The new store is up-to-date and modern in every respect, is room and well arranged. The stock carried by Mr. Baker was always well assorted und fresh and the general appearance of the new store was attractive. As It result. he did a flourishing business and his many friends regret that he has found it necessary through ill- health to give up his business. Adams' liros., who took charge of their new branch store this morn- ing, will no doubt meet with suc- cess in their‘ undertaking, being ox- perienccd men in the grocery busi- ness. Their present business is well established and lhrhing. It is probable that Mr. Delbert Adams will have charge of the new branch store at the foot of Kent-at” he having taken charge this morning. ‘0...- . DBI'I‘UARY LATE JAMES BLAIR.
