Linden Valley, June 19. â€" Many from this community attended the funeral which was held on Monday, of the late Mrs. Coedsat Oakwood, ' who was killed in a runaway on Sundav returning home from church I ( 1 1 e o. Messrs. W. and 0. Here. 0! Pleu- ant Point, spent Sunday with friends at. Lind'm Valley. Mrs. Garfield Rogers 01 Newmuket is at his home this week. Summer weather is making the campers troop to our lullaby retreat and soon the tourist season will be upon us. We were all filled with sorrow when we heard of the death of our bridge-tender. Mr. Dawson. He was a familiar figure in Rosedale and he commanded the respect ’0! all. Last Friday the people of Baddow held their annual picnic here and the young people of Rosedale participat- ed in the good time. Sunday was anniversary Sunday in the‘hreshyterian church here. '9 the morning we Rev. Mr. 8088. a former pastor. delivered an earnest appeal for a closer walk with God. taking tor his text, “ And Peter fol- lowed afar mi." In the evening our pastor, the Rev. Mr. harry, conduct- ed a song service. Four of our grandest old hymns were sung, ” Lead Kindly Light." " All Hail the Power,” ” God Moves in a Mysâ€" terious Way." and " Stand uu for Jesus." After the conclusion of the singing of each hymn Mr. Perry gave a brief sketch of the life of the hymn writer. He related what led to the writing of the hymn and told inci- dents in which the hymn had been a wonderful means of Grace. Special music was rendered by the choir and by the little girls of the Sab- batn school. The Messrs. and Miss- es Suggitt, of Bahdow, sang togeth- ‘er in a quartet. A special thank oi- iering taken up at both services amounted to over $57. This will help to wipe out the debt against the building. We should have men- tioned at the beginning that the church was elaborately decorated with a. wreath of leaves and flowers and ferns. ’l‘hese decorations were given a setting by the new church furniture installed during the past year. !an mummy vwmmt im- hug. of Mm Nam!
