The farm is 300 acres, and perfectly worked. They raise thoroughbred Jerseys. Rev. Mr. Ross inspected the stables, and declared that from them some pointers might be got for the Guelph farm. Hot and cold water is conducted through the buildings. A pail sits in front of each animal, so ï¬tted that thing; it might be an axe or paddle or other article. Little feflows got into the canoes with short paddles and managed them with great skill. Every canoe must have a cat, and one or more dogs. Often the dogs were required to run along the shore after the canoe. Some times they get a mile behind, but always catch up. When more than one belongs to the canoe they take turns at running and riding, but the cat rides all the time We came on down to Ottawa and from there home by train. It wasa ï¬ne trip.
