JAS. LOW Manager -â€"A despatch from Kingston, Ja- maica, says that 70 persons ‘ were killed and over 500 hundred injured by the hurricane that swept over the island Tuesday of last week. It is believed that the total numberof dead will reach 200. The damage to property reaches 8123800, 000. flows sands of homeless people are wani- cring about in 3. mm (in! ex- To the casual reader cases like this] ma) seem remarkable but Dr. Wil- jliams’ P.nk Pills have, in reality, cured thousands of cases pronounced by doctors to be incurable. These pills makes new, rich blood with ev- ery dose. and in this way tone and stengthen every organ in the body, driving out disease and restoring the patient to health after all other means have failed. Those who are weak and ailing, or who suffer from chronicdiseases, should not waste time and monev experimenting with other medicines, but should take Dr. Williams’ Pink Pills at once, if they wish to be restored to full health. Sold by all medicine dealers or sent! post paid. at 50 cents a. box or six In the. little village of Rodney, not far from the mining town of Spring- hill, N.S., lives Mr. James Stevens, a quiet, middle-aged man. who though living an unobtrusive life, has lately been much talked of as having been the subject of a cure pronounct-d by all familiar with the circumstances as scarecely less than miraculous. The. disease, which somq two years ago prostrated Mr. Stev- ens, came upon him gradually. There was an increasing feeling of general lassitude ; the kidneys did not right- ly perform their functions, and then the body began to bloat. This feel- ing continued extending to the ex- tremities. until Mr. Stevens became a. helpless. bloated mass of flesh. A finger pressed upon the bloated flesh would leave a mark all day. The urinary weakness became painful and distressing. the passages becoming very frequent. Doc-tors diagnosed the trouble as dropsy, but as their remedies failed to effect a cure, they pronounced the trouble as incurable. At this stage. the case of a neiglibor who had been cured after a. long and painful illness through the use of Dr. Williams“ Pink Pills was recalled and it was decided to give the pills a. trial. By the time the second box was used. the swelling began to de- crease. the passage of the urine was less .‘ "kguent, and the patient was in- spired ‘t'h fresh hope. The use of the pills . 'some time longer set Mr. Stevens c‘on his feet again a cured man. The 'imbs were restored to a healthy conditi:n, his weight be came normal, the kidmys resumed their functions healthfully, and to- day Mr. Stevens goes his daily work a. good specimen of hardy, healthy, Canadian manhood. His restoration is entirely due to Dr. Williams" P-ink Pills, and he does not hesitate to strongly recommend them to other sufferers. It appeared that iabout a. month ago Mr. Hume took la shotgun out of the house for the 3purpose of shooting a. dog that had "annoyed the family. She will be capable of avar- aging 17 knots an hour acroos the Atlantic, which will land the mails between Father Point and Moville in about five days and eighteen hours. â€"Vesuvius is again causing: intense alarm in the surrounding region. From a fresh opening at the base of the principal crator, twp streams of lava are issuing, which fi'ithin a few hours covered a wide tract of ground. One stream is going towards the vil- lag‘n of Ottajano, the direction taken by the famous eruption of 1872. The whole district around the crater is shaken by by frequent earth- shocks. and a panic prevails, the population crowding the churches to pray or gathering in open spaces for safety. Experts affirm that so far there is no reason to fear a serious disaster. â€"On Tuesday of last week.
